Submit a Paper
Scope
CAROW LER Working Papers welcomes submissions on industrial relations, employment relations, labor-management institutions, collective bargaining, labor law and policy, and related workplace governance topics. Cross-cutting work connecting to CAROW’s other research areas (AI and work, the care economy, workforce mental health, union membership) is also welcome.
Eligibility
Open to all industrial and employment relations scholars and students, not just those affiliated with CAROW, CIRHR, Cornell, or the University of Toronto — the only requirement is that the paper fits the scope above.
Format
- Submit a PDF of the complete paper, including an abstract of 150–250 words.
- Include up to 3 JEL classification codes and up to 6 keywords.
- There is no fixed length limit, but papers are typically 20–50 pages.
Review process
Submissions are read by the series editors (and, where relevant, a member of the editorial board) for fit and basic quality. This is not a peer-reviewed venue — the goal is to circulate work-in-progress for feedback ahead of formal journal submission. Typical turnaround is TBD.
How to submit
Email your PDF and a short cover note to the series editors, Kourtney Koebel and Michael Maffie, at kourtney.koebel@utoronto.ca or maffie@cornell.edu.
